Located on the south-western coast of Canada, the City of Vancouver is the largest municipality in British Columbia.
The following case-study will examine various mitigation and adaptation strategies that Vancouver implemented in response to the future threat of rising sea levels on properties and infrastructure.
Firstly it will address the reasons behind the selection of Vancouver as a relevant case study. It will provide an in-depth analysis of the various mitigation and adaptation strategies that the City uses to address the impact of sea level rising on properties and infrastructure. It will also include a comprehensive risk assessment of the solutions presented in the case study. Lastly it will discuss the Lessons Learned for Vancouver and evaluate the feasibility of their application to the City of Sydney which will form the foundation for the next part of this assignment in the Proposed Plan of Action.
