Thames Estuary 2100 is an adaptation strategy implemented to ensure flood risks to be well managed for London through to the end of the century and beyond. It was established by the Environment Agency in 2002. A well organised flood risk management system be crated in response to future climate changes and prevent people and property be impacted in the floodplain. |

Mitigation Strategies
Congestion Charging Scheme
London introduced "The Central London Congestion Charging Scheme" on 17th February 2003. It has successfully reduced vi chicle numbers in the London CBD by over 70,000 per day. Decreasing carbon emissions in the central London by 15%. |
Clean Bus Scheme
Public transport ranks as one of the largest contributors to GHG emissions at 11%, and is growing extremely faster. Urban GHG emissions can be reduced by using low emission vehicle technologies.It is expected that the Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) Network can reduce 62% emission than petrol-powered vehicles. |
