Information is power!
It is impossible to guarantee Green Growth in future development opportunities throughout the globe without the collaboration and analysis of information from the " tried and tested" , "the success stories" and the" failures" of like minded cities who are themselves trying to mitigate the impact of climatic changes on their long term existence . Whilst Sydney has a vision that stratagizes how we should be directing our cities developments to 2020, it is recommended research and development partnerships should be funded, developed and utilized to ensure Sydney is on a pathway to success. |
Partnerships allow for a focus on the results and effectiveness of actions undertaken in activities, with objectives that are result and sustainability focus whilst giving consideration to the economic and social sacrifices made to achieve the optimal result.
Partnerships need to be developed with world leaders in Green Growth Strategies, Universities, the private sector research and development bodies, Technology Researchers and individuals who work with minimal administrative costs, have access to information in the areas of expertise and who are willing to share their knowledge for which the partnership has been formed. It is envisaged that all bodies would achieve long term economic advantage from the partnerships, thru the sharing of this information and the creating of networks in related fields.

The World BankAffiliations can be extended with the World Bank for financial and technical assistance in achieving Green Growth through it's lending projects. The World bank supports projects that work toward the reduction in poverty thru creating viable ,sustainable and clean developments that aim to enhance nature and promote well being for future generations. The World bank hosts Innovative Knowledge Sharing opportunities for governments, investors and individuals to share data and results of climate change strategies . It also creates a network of international investment partnership possibilities that promotes employment and foreign investment opportunities.

University PartnershipsResearch and development should also be funded and resourced from domestic opportunities, where the constituents often have first hand knowledge, experience and exposure the strategies that are identified in Sydney's 2020 plan. Students are not only the generation of the future who will be directly effected by the results of the strategies, but they are also the creative minds of today, who have the time, knowledge and opportunity to analyse and develop alternative solutions that they will ideologically envisage for the future of their city.

TechnologyTechnology is the key to the future but must also be balance with the sustainability of our environment. Funding should be directed to research and development of Green technologies that are at present not economically viable but have the ability to potentially replace existing infrastructure and to reduce carbon emissions.
Industry leaders in specific fields such as waste recycling ,electricity, transport and water should be supported in their endeavours to develop their technology for the benefit of the cities well being. |
