South Korea as a nation and Mokpo as a city of Jallaeon Province ,all recognize the fact that climate change will effect their existence into the future.
Whilst Korea has been very proactive in undertaking a National campaign addressing mitigation strategies"Green Growth" with both short and long term objectives, there has also been a need for Mokpo as a city to address the adaptation measures that can be directly incorporated into their future town planning. This case study will look at both the adaptation measures and mitigation strategies planned .With climate change being a global issue it is inevitable that Korea's green Growth Strategies 2050 will have similarities to the objectives outlined in Sustainable Sydney 2030 Plan produced by the City of Sydney . Whilst there will be similarities and ongoing assessments undertaken by each city as their strategies are implemented, there is not always a guarantee of success with either strategy and the economic viability of plans are not always succinct . |
